From the get-go, a lot of businesses seemed unphased by COVID-19. After learning more about the coronavirus it became apparent that a lot of people would struggle. Countries started to shut borders, flights canceled, delayed, etc. We have all seen the news reports. Early this morning, we heard from a couple of business owners who were in a difficult situation. They are in the list of businesses that have to shut down until further notice. Unfortunately, we know this is just the beginning of a challenging period for almost every business.
There is a great sign of hope and spirit in our community which is great. We know that there are a lot who don’t know what to do. Those of you who are in this category, don’t think you are the only ones.
How Should Businesses React At This Time?
There is a lot of people who believe that there isn’t much that they can do. The belief is that since no business is getting customers, there is no way for them to make money or even attract new customers. Thanks to the internet, there is actually one thing they can do. Utilize this time to not only rebuild or redesign your website but also create some content that is well structured and more than 500 words. By creating new content for your website and posting regularly, you will be able to help build some momentum to your website again.
Building a new website will help you not only refocus your business, more importantly, though it will tell your existing customers that you are still open for business. It will also show potential new clients that you have remained open during these tougher times. As for creating new content for your website, let us be a little more specific. It is now a great time to establish a blog where customers can be educated, engaged and encourage to interact with you.
Marketing will be re-budgeted to the point where a lot of businesses won’t advertise their business. This will be a costly mistake for a lot of people.
