Man vs Machine: Who Will Win the Battle for Copywriting?

It has long been documented and discussed that Man vs Machine is a losing battle. The question is, who really is going to win when it comes to writing content? Copywriting is an essential skill for any business, yet it is a process that is often done manually. This is generally for 2 main reasons.

The first is our languages are complicated, they are filled with local takes on different words. To have machine’s adapt to the way we process and change our language is not easy. English for example, has changed vastly over the last few hundred years. Even in the past 20 years we have seen big changes. The use of some words are now seen as only ones used by the older generation. Then millenials have their own set of new words they have adapted and changed to suit their day to day language.

The second is people love to take ownership of what they write. Making it have a ‘personal’ touch and sounding more one to one has a stronger appeal. There is a belief that it helps create a more meaningful connection.

Why the machine may be a winner

With the advancement of technology, there are now tools that can help automate the process of copywriting. The machine can truly replicate the creativity and human touch that is often needed for this task. In this article, we will explore the man vs machine debate when it comes to copywriting and see which side comes out on top. Content creation is such a huge part of businesses these days and being able to create it is just as big an issue. The challenges we can all relate to when creating content includes getting the time to, what to create and furthermore, the amount that needs to be created.

We are all experiencing skill shortages across a variety of industries. We are seeing shortages in food supply chains and many more things. One area that is really suffering is content creation. Many advertising agencies and marketers identified this shortfall. As a result, a few of them have turned to using a machine to generating their content for their own uses. There have been some success stories and some failures. Lets have a quick look at some of the best performers.

The titans of AI Content writing

The two major hitters that come to mind when people talk about AI content writers are WordHero and Jasper! Both of these have got proven track records in creating good quality content. Can you tell the difference between AI and human written content? The short answer is, yes you can. Here though is a little bit more information on both Jasper and on WordHero.

WordHero (visit website here)

In its own words. WordHero is an AI-powered content creator that can help you write better content faster. It analyzes your topic and provides data-driven insights to help you produce high-quality content. WordHero also helps you find the best keywords to target for your content, so you can get more traffic from search engines.

In our words, it does more than just that. It helps you get past the beginning by giving you some direction with it’s simply created content ideas. While you may be well versed in what you do, you may not be well versed in explaining it or putting it in to words that an everyday Joe or Mary can understand. When running WordHero through its paces it starts to show off in the tinyest of ways. It is still very clever though. It looks for ways to help give the reader enough information without giving the full story if it doesn’t need to. One would argue that it is because it is not smart enough to give the full story. We however, believe it is not about being smart enough but rather it is being conservative.

We have done a few tests on AI content writers in the past and they are good, some are very good. Some though are just terrible. WordHero will help you get the basics together and will still leave you with enough room to put your personal touch to it. The platform is also very cost effective. At the moment there are two very special offers. The first is $89 USD for life with a limit of 20,000 words per month generated. The second is $269 USD for life with unlimited words per month generated.

Jasper (visit website here)

In its own words. Artificial intelligence makes it fast & easy to create content for your blog, social media, website, and more! Rated 5/5 stars in 3,000+ reviews. Jasper has read about 10% of the internet, so chances are it already knows about your niche. Being able to create content up to 5 times quicker than humans with the help of AI. This helps to even eliminate writers block.

In our words, it is cool! Jaspers’ creators have put a personality behind it’s brand. There is more to it though than you first think. It has the ability to find information (do its own research if you like) about your topic. While the same can be said about WordHero, it is just a little more polished in some area’s. Don’t get us wrong, we do love WordHero as well. Jasper though is a little different. in the way that it has been trained and adjusted by marketers to give it a bit more of an edge over its competitors.

Jasper is expensive for those who don’t see its value. The great news is that you can actually try it for free. Of course there are restrictions with the amount of content it will generate in that free price point. From there it really starts at $29 per month and goes up from there depending on word count and how much you want from the AI.

Which of the AI options are better?

This is something that is going to boil down to personal preference. After testing both of them out with about 10,000 words it was still a fairly tough call. We would still give the edge to WordHero as it is not quite as advanced to the point where it will carry out everything to the extent Jasper does. It does however eliminate writers block or the white sheet on the screen issue that even we suffer from when doing blog posts.

Content quality wise they are both very very good at generating content. In fact, telling the difference between them in terms of quality is difficult when they are both put on to identical settings. One test we did that was interesting when testing them out was this. We got both of them to generate a paragraph comparing both of them. This is what we got when asking one about each other.

“Jasper AI and WordHero are two of the most popular services, and both have their pros and cons.

Jasper AI is good for creating concise, well-written articles that are tailored to your audience. It can also help you come up with new ideas for content and optimize your website for SEO.

WordHero is good for creating high-quality, unique content that will help you stand out from the competition. It’s also affordable and easy to use, making it a great choice for small businesses or bloggers on a budget.”

Our take from man vs machine

Without a doubt, man will always win. The machine will always pick machine. I guess we are going to have to see who will win in the long run with content creation. In the meantime we will have to let you decide whether this article was written by man or machine! Maybe it was both, we will have to let you decide.
