Quite often we get asked about the quality of a website and what we think about the website that a given customer has. Honestly you are the only one who can answer that question is you, the website owner.

The question that really needs to be asked is “What can I do to make my website better?” The answer is really to have a high quality website. This is not saying for one second that the website you have is not high quality. It may look great and tick all the right boxes for different reasons. It doesn’t mean that it is high quality though and it is not necessarily based around the cost of the site.

Believe it or not high quality does go past the aesthetics of the site. In fact it goes a lot deeper than that. Some things that you need to consider include:

  • How quickly the website can load
  • Is the information presented in the article / page believable
  • Was the content written by an expert or enthusiast
  • does it contain duplicate, redundant or overlapping content
  • Would you feel safe in entering your credit card information on a checkout page on the website
  • And much more…

The list honestly goes on and on but all of a sudden you are seeing a lot of key things about the quality of the site and the information on it. Put all of these sorts of things in to consideration and you are on the way to getting a high quality website that is trust worth and of some conceivable value.

After taking all of the above in to consideration the next important part is going to be portraying this information in a way that visitors will engage in and come back to time and time again as a reference point. To help bring the quality up you would also need to include cross platform support and accessibility.

The unfortunate thing is that a lot of websites skip over most of the things we have mentioned above. They are all things that can be achieved providing you as a website owner can appreciate and see the value in it. It doesn’t necessarily cost you the earth to achieve it either.
